Eyes

At one of Kallie's ball games I peeked under the blankets to check on Hagey Baby and this is what I found. He was sound asleep but I guess I would be too if my eyes were covered.

Hagen still loves to lay on the couch, I think because it is so soft and he can see what is going on around him. He spends a lot of time there.

Hagen has a strange eye condition, we noticed it when he was about 2 weeks old. His eyes move back and forth like a pendalum. He can't really focus on anything and seems to look up when we talk to him. He is really smiling a lot lately and loves for us to talk to him and play with him. We really started to get concerned about his eyes at two months old. We took him to Dr. Mortensen the optometrist, he told us he was too young to diagnose him just yet but that it could be a few different things. 1. Weak muscles, that would get stronger with time (hopefully this is it) 2. A condition called infantile nystagmus, some babies grow out of it, others have it for life and there is nothing they can do about it. As of now his actual eyes look healthy and we know he can see, he is fairly far-sighted but that is common for babies his age. We take him back at six months old and hopefully we will have a better idea of what we are dealing with then. The top picture is the first picture we were able to get of Hagen smiling. He is so dang cute when he smiles, I can't get enough of this boy. He is also more content with life now and is a pretty good baby!
