August Eye Checkup

 

 Hagen had his eye check up in Salt Lake in August. We didn't learn anything new and he is still doing really well.  The main thing that concerns me right now is his speech, or lack thereof. I know I shouldn't worry too much about that but he is only saying 15-20 words and sometimes he doesn't even use them right.  As far as his eyes go though, they are staying the same and not getting worse which is good.  His nystagmus is slowing down but definately still there.  He was terrified of the doctors gadgets and contraptions this go round, whereas last time he didn't mind at all.

 We made this a quick down and back trip, and the car ride was painful to say the least.  Hagen was out of patience with his chair by the time we got to Rigby on the way down and fell asleep on the way home.  Problem was that we had to make a couple quick stops on the way home and he got woke up and then couldn't go back to sleep. I tried everything I could think of to entertain that kid and the only thing he liked was having straw sword fights.  He thought this was hilarious! (The tired kind of hilarious where you can't stop laughing, and then when he finally did he cried a bunch.) We finally got him a bag of mini oreos, he ate the whole thing and fell asleep about Idaho Falls! We are crossing our fingers that our check up in 6 months will go a little smoother.
